A Tuscan chest of drawers from the last quarter of the eighteenth century, built in solid cherrywood and preserved in remarkably original condition. It comes from the area between Siena, Perugia and Arezzo, a region where the tradition of well-crafted domestic furniture has long been marked by balance, restraint and an appreciation for fine materials. Three linear drawers define an essential façade, where the cherrywood reveals warm grain, gentle shading and that antique patina that only time – more than any intervention – can create.
The slender, tapered legs reflect the Louis XVI taste filtered through Tuscan sensibility: a dry, measured elegance, never stiff, capable of being both discreet and homely. Everything is completely original, from the structure to the drawer bottoms; the restoration, careful and respectful, merely revived its brightness without altering the substance or the soul of the piece.
Probably created for a bedroom, it is today an extremely versatile model: its clean, linear form makes it suitable for an entrance hall, a living room or a passageway, perhaps paired with an antique mirror or a painting to complete the ensemble. It is a piece that speaks a clear and authentic language, lives through its simplicity, and brings into a home a discreet kind of elegance, more atmosphere than display. A Tuscan classic of the eighteenth century, still capable of holding its place in a room with natural authority.
